Early life
Collins Letsoalo was born in the village of Ga-Molepo in the Limpopo province of South Africa.
He did his primary and post-primary education in the town before embarking on further studies at different schools in the city.
He was the last child of his parents and was described by his peers as intelligent.

Career
Collins Letsoalo started his career at the South African Reserve Bank, holding various roles before joining Government through the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), where he was involved in the restructuring of Enterprises Government.
He then worked at Vunani Real Estate Investment Trust, where he worked with Hyprop to build a divested real estate investment vehicle.
Collins Letsoalo then re-entered public service as Deputy Director General (DDG): Financial Services at the Department of Transport (DoT), South Africa.
He was seconded and spent three and a half years working at South Africa’s Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) to support the development of this segment.
Thanks to his extensive financial knowledge, Collins Letsoalo rejoined the DoT after achieving two consecutive unqualified audits and brought RTMC into a healthy financial position from insolvency technical math.
In July 2016, Collins Letsoalo was appointed to the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) as Acting Group CEO with a mandate to develop and implement a change strategy to restore operations as well as corporate governance and finance. He returned to the position of Chief Financial Officer of the Department of Transport in March 2017.
Collins Letsoalo was recently seconded to the South African Cross-Border Road Transport Authority (C-BRTA) and is now appointed as Chief Executive Officer of C-BRTA.
However, Collins Letsoalo’s flourishing career was tainted by embarrassment when he was fired for corruptly increasing his salary by 130%. He denied the claim, but the damages were too great to compensate him.
