Daniel Alejandro Velásquez Franco, widely known as Dr. Velásquez, has passed away; He was found dead with his girlfriend at his home in Colombia.

According to Billboard, the couple was found shot to death at the hitmaker’s home in Envigado, Medellín, Colombia.

His partner was also found dead, wrapped in a sheet in one of the rooms at his home.

His record label JMW Music confirmed the sad news in a statement posted on the label’s official Instagram account.

The letter translated into English reads: “With profound pain we inform you of the death of Dr. Velásquez, famous singer, composer, manager, businessman and paisa dreamer ”.

JMW Music added that Dr. Velásquez was a pioneer in the music scene in his city, as he founded the first and largest reggaeton center in Medellín.

They added: “His legacy and passion for music have left an indelible mark on the industry and in the hearts of those who knew him. During this painful time, we ask for caution.” esteem and respect for his family, friends and colleagues”.

In a separate statement, the record label clarified that although the incident is currently under investigation, the judiciary has ruled out the possibility of suicide.

They also noted that the main suspect in the case has been arrested and is in custody.

Dr. Velásquez is a famous name in the Colombian music scene. He is responsible for the popularity of some of the most famous artists in his country, such as Maluma, J Balvin, Reykon, etc.
