Early life and education
Divya Pillai was born into a Malayali family. She was born on 29 November 1988 to Narayana Pillai and Chandrika Pillai.
She was born and brought up in Dubai, UAE, but moved to Kerala at a very young age. Her father is from Kasargod and her mother is from Palakkad. She has two siblings – a brother who lives in Abu Dhabi and a sister who lives in Bahrain.
Divya Pillai graduated from Dubai Modern High School, which is affiliated to Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). She then studied for a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at Middlesex University Dubai. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Film Studies from the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles.

Divya Pillai is married and her husband’s name is Govind Padmasoorya who is a very famous Malayalam actor in Kerala.
The couple has two children, a son and a daughter. The family lives in Trivandrum.

Divya Pillai made her film debut in 2015 with the romantic comedy Ayal Njanalla opposite actor Fahadh Faasil, who was in his debut film directed by Vineeth Kumar.

Her next release was the revenge drama Oozham (2016), directed by Jeethu Joseph, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film was a box office success. In 2019, she made a cameo appearance as Jancy in the television series Uppum Mulakum.
After Oozham, Divya Pillai acted in the crime thriller Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi (2018), directed by Dileesh Nair. This was followed by Sugeeth’s debut film Ithu Thanda Policeum (2018) and the 2018 horror film Kammara Sambhavam, where she played a ghost in a three-minute sequence directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan. She has also signed her next project titled Vismaya, directed by Saji Surendran and Anjali Menon, which is yet to be released.
Divya Pillai has also been seen opposite Vidharth in a Tamil film, Pariyerum Perumal, produced by Prithviraj Sukumaran under August Cinema. The film is set to release on September 26, 2019. She is currently shooting for her next Tamil film opposite Atharvaa Manikandan, directed by Muthukumar, who produced Aadukalam and Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Jyothika respectively.
