In a 12-second leak of new music that went viral Friday on social media, Drake appeared to be saying goodbye to his never-ending rap beef with Kendrick Lamar.
In the short visual, Drake exclaims, “Damn, I’m trying to light up the party,” suggesting a new direction in his artistic approach.

According to AllHipHop, it’s unclear whether the snippet is real or not, but fans speculate that it could be new music from Drake and PartyNextDoor – the two were rumored to have been working together as of late. 11.
This speculation became hot right after Lamar’s new album GNX was released and quickly climbed to No. 1 on the charts.
Kendrick’s fans reacted to the leaked snippet and they were also quick to express their opinions on social media.
A lot of people took to Instagram to point out that Drake’s changes in focus were a shift from his previous critiques and were a bit shady about his new direction.
One user joked, “Kendrick makes the party fun and exciting,” while another noted, “I like Drake with the tunes; I don’t like Drake when he acts tough.
Others challenged Drake, equating him with using a ghostwriter, with one commenting, “Where’s the song reference?”
Aside from the criticism regarding his music, some fans also noted the timing of Drake’s lyrics in relation to his legal battle with UMG and Spotify over the song Kendrick’s rebuttal.
One user said, “Should have said this before the lawsuit,” in reference to the allegations Drake made about the two companies allegedly colluding with each other.
Although others mocked the situation, some fans hoped Drake would grow up after his rap and nightlife battles.
