Douglas Barrowman is a British businessman with a varied career in finance and investment. He began his career as a chartered accountant and worked at private equity firm 3i. In 1992, he left 3i to set up his own corporate finance firm, leaving in 1999.
In 1999, Barrowman founded Aston Adventurea private investment vehicle. Over the next decade, Aston Adventure has made 13 acquisitions of “old economy” businesses, including the world’s third-largest cable maker, B3 Cable.
In 2008, Barrowman moved to the Isle of Man and founded The Knox Groupowns several businesses, including Aston Adventure. Barrowman is also the director of Aston Management Limited (AML)providing tax advice and offshore lending schemes are under scrutiny by the UK government.
