Early life

D’Prince was born in Lagos on October 23, 1986. He was born to Collins Enebeli, a businessman.

His father is also a music producer and founder of the record label Sagittarius Productions. Her mother is Patience Enebeli, an international business tycoon. He comes from Umuahia, Abia state, Nigeria.

D’Prince is the younger brother of music mogul and CEO of Mavin Records, Don Jazzy.

Music has always been in the family and he is no stranger to the Music business. D’Prince is also known as “Omoba”, “Son of a King” in the Yoruba language.

Education

After completing his primary education, D’Prince joined King’s College in Lagos, where he obtained the West African Higher Diploma. After completing his high school education, he decided to pursue his passion for music.

Career

Paying tribute to his mentors Fela Kuti and Bob Marley, D’Prince uses a fusion of Afrobeat and Afropop to bring his music to life in honor of his mentors. His songs are based on truth and life, with a deeper meaning, capturing the struggle of a young Nigerian man trying to achieve his dreams. He performs in Igbo, English and Pidgin English.

D’Prince was asked to become a member of Mo’ Hits Records in 2005 after his brother Don Jazzy returned from the United Kingdom to promote the record label in Nigeria. Since joining Mo’ Hits Records in 2005, he has been behind the scenes working on his solo album Frenzy, which was released under the record label in 2012.

D’Prince recorded many songs for the Mo’ Hits Records and Mo’ Hits Records compilation albums Curriculum Vitae, released in December 2007. It included the hit singles, “Booty Call”, “Close To You”, “Masquerade”, “Stop The Violence”, “Igbe Mi”, “Hey Girl”, “What You Want To Do To Me”, “Oh No”, were the lead singles.

On November 25, 2009, D’Prince released a single titled “Omoba” which was re-released in 2010. On April 13, 2010, the official video for the song “Omoba” was released via via Mo’ Hits Records.

He moved to Mavin Records after Mo’ Hits Records dissolved in 2012. On October 31, 2012, he released three singles, “Goody Bag”, “Call The Police” and “Real G,” collaborating with MI Abaga on his debut studio. album Crazy. On November 5, 2012, he released his “first” studio album Frenzy. The album features Wande Coal, Don Jazzy, Dr SID, Wizkid, Timaya, MI Abaga, Tiwa Savage, Bracket, Sinzu (aka Sauce Kid), Eva Alordiah, General Pype and Ice Prince. On August 3, 2015, he released Bestie, featuring Don Jazzy and Babyfresh, who also played an important role as the song’s producers.

On October 2, 2017, he released Sade, produced by BabyFresh. The same day he released Sade’s music video, shot by Unlimited LA.

On February 16, 2018, he released Gucci Gang, produced by Don Jazzy. On April 27, 2018, he released a music video directed by Q.

On February 28, 2018, Rema posted a viral freestyle photo of Gucci Gang on Instagram, tagging him and Don Jazzy on the post, which caught the attention of D’Prince and helping Rema get a recording contract with Jonzing World.

On May 3, 2019, he released a three-track extended play titled Lavida, produced by Altims and Babyfresh. The extended play also features Rema and Don Jazzy.

On March 22, 2019, he founded the record label and management company Jonzing World. An imprint of Mavin Records and home to recording artists Rema and Ruger. In 2015, D’Prince had a child with Sharon Oparacho, a graduate of Coventry University, England. In 2016, the couple welcomed their second child together.
