Arrest and release
Eromosele ‘Eromz’ Adene participated in the October 2020 End SARS protests that took place nationwide in Nigeria. Due to his involvement and influence, he was arrested.
He was charged in a Lagos court with three counts of inciting crime, cyberstalking and breaching public peace. Police have asked that he be detained for 30 days.
As a result, lawyers and social media responded, leading to a nationwide Twitter trend with #ENDSARS and #FreeEromz topping the Twitter trending charts. A lawyer like Mochievous Moe Odele joined the case to fight for his freedom.
He was released on bail after the trial. His next court appearance was postponed until February 2021 due to Covid-19.
