Former Chelsea and Cameroon midfielder Geremi Njitap has taken legal action to end his marriage to Laure Fotso after DNA tests showed the twins they were raising were her ex-husband’s children.

At 45, Geremi expressed shock and deep disappointment when she discovered the twins, born in June 2008, were not her biological children. Court documents filed in Cameroon cited Laure’s actions as undermining the harmony of the marriage, citing her deceitful behavior and constant lies.

The couple’s relationship was in turmoil when Geremi learned the truth, causing irreparable emotional damage and prompting him to seek a legal separation. He accused Laure of causing psychological harm, leaving him devastated by the betrayal.
Geremi, known for his illustrious career at Chelsea from 2003 to 2007, made 109 appearances for the club and scored four goals. His tenure at Real Madrid from 1999 to 2003 saw him lift the prestigious Champions League trophy.
Internationally, Geremi was a key member of the Cameroon team that won back-to-back AFCON titles in 2000 and 2002. He also played a key role in Cameroon’s Olympic gold medal in football at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
