Art Garfunkel, one half of the famous folk-rock duo Simon & Garfunkel, opened up about his reunion with his old musical companion.

Nearly 15 years since they last performed together, Garfunkel and his former duo partner, Paul Simon, have reunited for reasons he did not reveal in his latest interview.

According to Art, their reunion was filled with emotions. For his part, he cried because he felt he had treated his former best friend badly.
Art told The Sun: “There were tears. I cried at a certain point because I felt like I had hurt him.”
Although overcome with emotion, he admitted that their reunion was “very, very warm and wonderful.”
Garfunkel also recalled that “there were hugs” at that time before revealing that their reunion took place about two weeks before the lunch.
As Simon & Garfunkel, the two artists achieved a lot after becoming famous with the hit “The Sound of Silence” in 1965.
They went on to sell 100 million records and win 10 Grammy Awards with the hit songs “Mrs. Robinson”, “The Boxer” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water” – the lead single from their final album of the same name released in 1970.

According to The Independent, Garfunkel and Simon broke up due to creative tensions.
Since releasing their last album as a duo, Art and Simon have worked on several reunion projects starting in 1993 until 2010. Unfortunately, a North American tour was supposed to be that year was canceled after Art had major vocal problems, according to Rolling Stone.
When asked if they had a chance to go down memory lane and reminisce about their huge success in the ’60s, Garfunkel could only say: “No, we haven’t. That speaks for itself.” .”
