Early life and education
Jackie Appiah was born on December 5, 1983, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to Ghanaian parents. Her parents are Ghanaians Kwabena Appiah (father) and Janet Owusu (mother).
She is the fifth and last child of the couple. Jackie Appiah’s father is related to the late Joe Appiah, a prominent Ghanaian lawyer from Kumasi. Joe Appiah served in the House of Representatives representing Atwema-Amansi from 1957 to 1961. She grew up in Canada but when she was ten years old, she and her mother went to Ghana.
She has always had a passion for acting and has played many different roles while in school.

Jackie Appiah started her primary education at Derrytown Public School in Toronto, Canada. She played roles in every school play at the end of the year, which ignited her passion for acting at an early age.
