Cynthia Jane Fellowes, Baroness Fellowes, is the daughter of Frances Shand Kydd and John Spencer, 8th Earl Spencer. She is also the younger sister of the late Diana, Princess of Wales. On 20 April 1978, Jane married her distant relative Robert Fellowes (1941–2024), then assistant private secretary to the Queen, in a ceremony held at the Royal Military Chapel (Guards Chapel), Wellington Barracks.
On 12 July 1999, Robert Fellowes was created for life as Baron Fellowes, of Shotesham in the County of Norfolk, after first being knighted as Sir Robert Fellowes. Together, they have three children named Laura Fellowes, Alexander Robert Fellowes and Eleanor Ruth Fellowes.
