Jay-Z tries a new tactic to get his rape case thrown out

Jay-Z and his legal team are trying new legal remedies to get the rape charges against him thrown out.

The rapper’s attorney, Alex Spiro, shared a two-page letter sent to the judge in the case, Judge Analisa Torres. It was revealed on December 30 and shared that the case could not continue due to the ban.

“Plaintiff cannot recover his sole claim under the Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act (GMV Act), as a matter of law, because the statute is not retroactive . Plaintiff asserts a violation of the GMV Law for which conduct allegedly occurred in September 2000. But the GMV Law was only promulgated on December 19, 2000, three months after the FAC’s declaration. claim that such conduct has occurred and cannot be applied retroactively to create a cause of action that Plaintiff did not have at the time in question,” the letter said, according to Duration.

The assault allegedly took place on September 7, 2000 at a party for Diddy. Since the allegations became public, Jane Doe has made several inconsistencies in her statement.

“I made some mistakes,” she told NBC News.

She continues to maintain that the overall allegations against the rapper remain true. One of the contradictions highlighted is that she claimed that her father had picked her up after the assault, but her father did not remember this.

Spiro makes sure to highlight the contradictions.

“According to the FAC, Plaintiff was driven from Radio City Music Hall to a ‘large white residence with a gated U-shaped driveway’ – a 20-minute drive. This is where the alleged assault took place. FAC’s description of the attack however the residence in question, combined with public records, confirms that any such residence – to the extent it existed at the time – would have located outside the territorial boundaries of New York City. THAT’S RIGHT – they are not – they cannot legitimately claim relief,” the letter added.

Jae Doe’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, who represents 120 of Diddy’s accusers, has not yet responded.

Jay-Z has vehemently denied all allegations against him.

“My attorney received an extortion attempt, known as a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee. What he calculated was the nature of the allegations and the oversight of The public will make me want to deal with it. No, sir. It does the opposite! It makes me want to expose your fraud VERY publicly !” said a statement sent to Roc Nation’s Instagram account.

The rapper ended his statement by saying that Buzbee “made a terrible error in judgment”.

Judge Torres previously granted the alleged victim the right to anonymity in this case despite Spiro’s request to reveal her identity. She also criticized Spiro for targeting defense attorney Tony Buzbee following Thursday’s court order.

“Since Carter’s attorney first appeared in this case seventeen days ago, he has submitted numerous letters and motions attempting to impugn the character of Plaintiff’s attorney, many of them,” she said. one of them explained the ‘urgent’ purpose of this case.

Buzbee later gave a response to CNN.

“The coordinated and desperate efforts to attack me as attorney for the alleged victims are failing,” he said.
