Who are Jonah Hauer-King’s parents?

Jonah Hauer-King was born to his parents, Jeremy King and Debra Hauer. They have been his number one supporters and biggest fans since day one. In fact, it was his mother, Debra, who inspired him to enter the entertainment industry.

“I owe her so much love for the stage [his mother],” Jonah said in October 2016. “She always took me to see shows and she gave me quite a diverse exposure to the world of theater. Even though I grew up with it, I never really admitted to myself that I wanted to act until I was a teenager.”

However, although Jonah’s parents influenced him to pursue an acting career, they also said that the industry has a lot of “uncertainty” and “unstableness.” Therefore, he took his sweet time to decide before entering the entertainment world.

Jonah first appeared in the 2017 British television series, The Last Picture. Although he had starred in productions like Punk Rock at the Lyric Theater in 2014 and Equus in 2015, The Last Photograph gave him the big break he was looking for. In 2018, he starred in three films Postcards from London, Ashes in the Snow and Old Boys, and made his way into Hollywood with a leading role in the great 2019 film, A Dog’s Way Home.

He currently plays Prince Eric in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid and is also working on his next project, World on Fire. In the latter, he played a cranky pilot named Harry in the Royal Air Force (RAF) during World War II.

In the late 1970s, Jeremy met Chris Corbin and they have been business partners ever since. Together, the pair established some of London’s most iconic and highly regarded establishments such as The Wolseley, The Delaunay, Zédel, Colbert, Fischer’s and Café Wolseley.

For his contributions to the hospitality industry and voluntary services to the Arts, Jeremy was awarded an OBE in the 2014 New Year Honors List.

Meet Debra Hauer, Jonah Hauer-King Mother

Debra Hauer is Jonah Hauer-King’s mother, who influenced him to become an actor. She was born to Polish Jewish parents who fled to America in the 1930s. It is for this reason that Jonah has always been fascinated by “how war affects a person’s identity.” .

Her parents’ names were Samuel David Hauer (a surgeon in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II) and Mildred Harris.
