Jessie J Announces Social Media Detox, Hinting She’s Going Through Energy-Depleting Things

Jessie J, 36, has announced she will be taking a break from social media after it was previously suggested she was facing personal challenges.

She shared a black screen on her Instagram Story, telling fans that she would be taking a break from social media until she felt ready to return.

In a heartfelt message to her followers, she wrote: “If you know me, you know that I like to detox from social media every now and then. And it’s time to do it. I’ll be back when I have enough energy for alladat. Love.”

The decision comes after Jessie’s recent heartfelt message to fans on Instagram, where she expressed her sympathy for those juggling work, family life and children.

Ahead of her show in Sweden on Sunday, she posed in an eye-catching pink and gold sequin dress for a photoshoot at home, sitting on a garden box.

The singer cut a cute figure, pairing her striking outfit with quirky gold heels and ’90s-inspired pink sunglasses. Jessie J, who is also mother to 14-month-old son Sky, has been openly managing her professional and personal life amid recent challenges.

Jessie J recently shared that motherhood has “changed everything” for her.

Minutes after wowing the crowd on the main stage at the Isle of Wight festival, Jessie opened up about how motherhood has profoundly affected her career, describing it as a positive change.

The artist also expressed her hope that her recent lyrics will resonate with others facing the challenges of parenthood.

Jessie welcomed her first child, son Sky, into the world last year with her partner, basketball player Chanan Colman, in May.

Before Sky’s birth, the former Voice UK coach candidly shared her difficult journey to motherhood on social media, including the heartbreaking news of a miscarriage in November 2021.

In an exclusive interview with the Mirror backstage at the festival, the singer explained her thoughts.

“You know, losing a child is the worst thing, and I hate that so many people have to go through that because it’s such a difficult experience to go through. And I’m glad that I felt strong enough to share my experience but because I know that there are so many people who don’t know how to put it into words and don’t need to express their emotions, I even wrote songs about it on my album. You know, because putting emotions into songs that can be time capsules for people to go back to and they need that moment of grief or need that moment of hope is so important.”
