Joe Flizzow is a Malaysian rapper, businessman and television presenter. He was born on 16 October 1979 in Johor Bahru, Malaysia and was raised by his parents, Ishak Nengah and Aishah Ali, and two siblings, Ashraf Ishak and Iman Ishak.
He is Muslim, but his ethnicity is unknown. Joe studied Advertising, Multimedia and Broadcasting at Limkokwing University.
He rose to fame in the Malaysian music industry with his unique style of fusing traditional Malaysian music with Western hip-hop. He has also ventured into business and television hosting.
Career
Joe Flizzow rose to fame in the music industry after joining the Malaysian hip-hop group Too Phat. However, in 2008, he decided to pursue a solo career in music and released his debut album President on 31 December 2008, under the auspices of Warner Music Malaysia. The album featured collaborations with various artists from various countries, showcasing Joe’s talent and global appeal.
Joe Flizzow released his third solo album, Havoc, on 7 November 2013. The album features 14 Malay songs and collaborations with artists such as Amy Search, Rossa, Altimet, SonaOne, Syaheed, Ajai, DJ Biggie and Yasin Sulaiman. The first single from the album, also titled “Havoc”, topped the Malaysian iTunes chart.
The song “Apa Khabar” was later awarded Best Song at the 29th Juara Lagu Awards 2015 and also won Best Hip Hop Song at the 21st Music Industry Awards. The album received positive reviews and further cemented Joe Flizzow’s status as one of Malaysia’s top hip-hop artists.
Joe Flizzow is a successful Malaysian rapper, entrepreneur, and advocate against cyberbullying and fake news. He is the founder and co-owner of Kartel Records, a record label that has produced talented artists such as Altimet, Micbandits, and SonaOne.
