Juice WRLD fans are less than impressed with the late rapper’s posthumous album cover, “The Party Never Ends.”
The design comes via the beloved game Fortnite as part of the Chapter 2 Remix update, according to ‘Brand Jasmine’. Despite the release of this highly anticipated project, the artwork has been criticized by fans.
The “Takashi Murakami-inspired” artwork is being dragged by fans boldly calling the piece “ugly,” though some seem to be holding back, saying the musician could appreciated this abstract design.
“Looks like they melted Kanye’s “Graduation,” one fan wrote in an Instagram repost of the artwork ‘TJB’ got. “I really think he would like this,” a second commented “Truth!!!! The cover is trash,” another person exclaimed.
“It’s crazy to me that he’s dead, gone and immature when people are worried about a cover. Listen to the album and shut up. Wrong worry,” said a fifth. reply.
Although the cover art seemed to disappoint many, its lead single, “AGATS2 (Insecure)” – a remix of his song “All Girls Are The Same” featuring rap star Nicki Minaj – has received positive reviews from fans.
Juice WRLD – real name Jarad Anthony Higgins – emerged as a leading figure in the genre of black artists creating emo rap, first finding success in the SoundCloud community before attracting widespread attention widely in the 2010s.
The rapper passed away in December 2019, although the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office initially did not determine the cause of death. On January 22, 2020, it was announced that he had died from lethal levels of oxycodone and codeine.
The full album will be released on November 29.
