Kalpana Raghavendar (born 8 May 1980) is a talented singer, songwriter, actress and reality television host from India. She competed in Bigg Boss Telugu Season 1 and won Idea Star Singer Malayalam.
At the age of five, she began her career as a vocalist. As of 2013, she has recorded 1,500 records and performed 3,000 times in India and abroad.
Kalpana Raghavendar won the fifth season of the South Indian singing competition Star Singer, hosted by Malayalam television channel Asianet, in 2010. She was one of the judges on Super Singer Junior 6.

Early life
Kalpana Raghavendar was born on 8 May 1980 into a musical family from Chennai, India. Her mother, Sulochana Raghavendar, is also a singer, and her father, TS Raghavendra, is a famous singer, actor and composer.
Her younger sister Shekinah Shawn was a famous opera singer, born Prasanna Raghavendar. Madurai T. Srinivasan taught Carnatic music to Kalpana Raghavendar.
She is a talented singer, has a Master’s degree in Computer Applications and is studying for a Master’s degree in Philosophy.
Career
At the age of 5, Kalpana Raghavendar began her musical career. Her first vocal performance was a song composed by music director Saluri Vasurao, featuring P. Susheela, Mano, MM Srilekha and her younger sister Shekinah Shawn.
She started her career as a full-fledged film music singer in 1999 by contributing to the song Mangalagouriki from the Telugu film Manoharam, composed by Mani Sharma. Along with these renowned musicians, she has collaborated with KS Chithra, Ilaiyaraaja, AR Rahman, KV Mahadevan, SP Balasubrahmanyam and MS Viswanathan.
Kalpana Raghavendar has performed in around 3000 stage shows worldwide, making her more known to the public as a stage performer than a playback singer. In 2013, she was the lead singer in a performance honoring Madurai T. Srinivasan, her mentor.
