Kalpana Raghavendar was born into a musical family in Chennai, India on May 8, 1980. Her mother, Sulochana Raghavendar, is also a singer, and her father, TS Raghavendra, is a famous dubbing singer, actor, and composer.
Her sister Shekinah Shawn is a famous opera singer, born Prasanna Raghavendar.Madurai T. Srinivasan taught Kalpana Raghavendar Carnatic music.
She is an accomplished singer, has a Masters in Computer Applications, and is studying for a Masters in Philosophy.
