A California lawsuit alleges rapper Kanye West, also known as Ye, made anti-Semitic comments and “abusive behavior” while working for the Yeezy brand and his school Donda Academy.
One of the allegations comes from Murphy Aficionado, who worked for Ye from 2022 to 2023 for nine months.
Aficionado said the work environment was a “nightmare,” with Ye frequently hurling anti-Semitic slurs. According to the lawsuit, “During Aficionado’s employment, Ye’s anti-Semitic plots and plots were a daily occurrence.”
The lawsuit also says that Ye frequently said that “the Jews control the Kardashians” and that they were trying to sabotage his finances.
Ye, 47, was married to Kim Kardashian for eight years before they divorced in 2022. The couple has four children together.
In recent years, Ye has made headlines for some statements that could be considered anti-Semitic, comments saying he saw “good things about Hitler” and others saying he “will execute three Jews.”
His comments cost millions of dollars in merchandising deals, such as with Adidas.
In addition to allegations of anti-Semitism, the lawsuit said Ye acted inappropriately toward employees.
The fan said he felt “violated and dehumanized” as he endured Ye’s sexual harassment while waiting in his hotel room. He endured hearing Ye have sex with his then-girlfriend Bianca Censori, who was a masseuse at the time, the suit claims.
The lawsuit is seeking damages for unpaid contract payments and emotional distress, although the amount was not specified.
In announcing the lawsuit Tuesday, attorney William Reed, representing Aficionado, said: “This behavior is unacceptable and inexplicable.
Ye has yet to issue an official statement regarding the new controversy.
