Kendrick Lamar Praised Online For ‘Not Like Us’ Music Video: See How the Internet Reacts

The internet is going crazy over Kendrick Lamar’s music video for “Not Like Us,” a song that mocks Drake.

Directed by Lamar and Dave Free, the “Not Like Us” music video delivered a huge blow to Drake as the massive crowd chanted and sang along to the diss track at full volume.

At one point, Lamar even used a wooden stick to mercilessly hit an owl-shaped piñata, a direct reference to Drake’s OVO record label logo.

“Killed a Canadian on July 4th. That’s one way to celebrate it,” one user shared on Reddit, noting that Lamar released the music video on July 4.

In a clip from the music video, Lamar, his wife, Whitney Alford, and their two children dance and play piano for him, refuting Drake’s claims about Lamar’s broken family in his diss track, “Family Matters.”

“It was so much fun to watch. His family dancing moment was awesome. YouTube followers are going crazy after this,” another noted.

“Dude this guy is the best diss artist ever. Releasing this song on Independence Day after calling Drake a colonizer, a master manipulator and a pdf is insane,” one YouTube commenter wrote.

“Whitney’s reaction to this whole situation is insane! Like I don’t have to say a word, I just sit back and watch him fall while my man protects me and then I get to dance with my family for the perfect comeback! I love it!” a third person said.

Another highlight that fans spotted in the music video was Lamar hopping around while rapping, “Tryna strike a chord and it’s prolly A Minor,” a harsh dig at Drake, who has been accused of having a pedophile relationship.

“Adding a chalk sketch of him jumping squares while he says “A Minor” is insanely savage,” one fan declared, agreeing with another fan who said, “Jumping squares while saying “A Minorrrrrrrrrrr” is EVIL! Kendrick is a crazy man.”

“Not Like Us,” which previously debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, opened with 70.9 million streams, 5 million radio airplays, and 15,000 copies sold in the United States last week, Billboard reported. Lamar’s latest chart-topper only has a five-day chart tracking week, starting May 3, 2024; the song was released on May 5, 2024.

Lamar has had four songs reach number 1 on the Hot 100 chart – “Bad Blood” featuring Taylor Swift, “Humble”, “Like That” featuring Future and Metro Boomin’, and “Not Like Us”.
