Kevin Love, a celebrated professional basketball player, was born on September 7, 1988, in the vibrant city of Santa Monica, California. His childhood was shaped by the loving presence of his parents, Stan Love and Karen Love.
Growing up, Kevin shared his journey with his two siblings, Collin Love and Emily Love. He attended Lake Oswego High School and eventually completed his studies at the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles.
Career
Love was selected fifth overall in the 2008 NBA draft by the Memphis Grizzlies, but was immediately traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He played for the Timberwolves for six seasons, averaging 18.3 points, 12.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. He was a three-time All-Star and was named the NBA’s Most Improved Player in 2011.
Love joined the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014 and became part of the much-anticipated “Big Three” alongside LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. Despite reaching the NBA Finals four times in his first four seasons with the team, they could only win one championship in 2016.
Despite dealing with numerous injuries in recent years, Love has made a strong comeback in the 2021-22 season. As the sixth man for the Cavaliers, he has shown his skills by averaging 13.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.
This remarkable feat is even more impressive given his limited playing time in previous seasons. Due to injury, he played just 60 games in 2018-19, 22 in 2019-20 and 42 in 2020-21.
