Khanyi Mbau was born on October 15, 1985, at the Florence Nightingale Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Her mother is Lynette Sisi Mbau, who gave birth to Haniyi while she was unmarried.
Her father, Menzi Mcunu, had no ownership over her but had the opportunity to name her.
