Chicago rapper Lil Durk is facing more legal trouble. Ahead of his scheduled detention hearing while behind bars in Los Angeles on current charges, newly unsealed court records now link Durk to the fatal shooting in 2022 targeting an alleged gang leader.
To keep you up to date, Durk was previously accused of acting as the boss of “Only the Family” (OTF), a gang formed in 2010. The 32-year-old was detained in Broward County, Florida, on October 24. According to law enforcement, he and several members of the OTF were involved in a plot targeting Lul Pab, Quando Rondo’s cousin. The action was said to be revenge for the 2020 murder of King Von, a rapper associated with Durk Records, by a member of Rondo’s circle. Durk and five members of the OTF, including Kavon Grant, Deandre Wilson, Keith Jones, David Lindsey and Asa Houston, now face multiple charges related to the incident.
He was charged with felony counts in the murder-for-hire plot in November, including one count of conspiracy, one count of using federal facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death and one count of using , carrying, and discharging firearms and machine guns and possessing such firearms in the commission of a crime of violence that resulted in the death of Lul Pab.
If convicted, Durk and the other defendants could face a maximum statutory sentence of life in federal prison.
However, things are now getting more tense as the “All My Life” rapper is now linked to a brand new murder. According to The Chicago TribuneDurk is being named in the 2022 murder of Stephon Mack in Chicago, a shooting believed to be revenge for the 2021 murder of Durk’s brother OTF DThang.
He has yet to be formally charged in connection with this particular case, although this certainly makes his legal battle worse, as Durk is likely to face a general sentence close.
His lawyers are working hard to win his freedom, countering the prosecution’s claim that he allegedly mentioned Lul Pab’s death in one of his songs yours. “When you see an artist’s rap lyrics cited as ‘evidence’ against them,” they said. TMZ Hip Hop earlier this month. “That is a clear indication that there is no real evidence against that person.”
