Basketball wife Draya Michele has a 21-year-old son named Kniko Howard. Many people believed that Gilbert Arenas was Kniko’s father because Michele and Gilbert have been linked since 2008 but it turns out that’s not the case.
To protect her family’s privacy, Draya refrained from addressing the rumors for a while, but she felt compelled to speak out when Gilbert’s reports became unmanageable. Indicating that Draya received child support payments totaling more than $40,000 is false. She gave an explanation because she felt that this rumor did not respect her entrepreneurial spirit.

Draya corrected the record in a post she made on Instagram in 2016 (via The Jasmine Brand), however, it has since been deleted. She wrote under a photo of herself as a young woman: “This is Draya….. When I was 17 years old, I became pregnant by a man who had been detained for 10 years when I was 7 months pregnant. Thanks to my mother’s help, I was able to survive.”
Draya continued: “Now, judging by how young and underdeveloped I am, in addition to living in a very small city in PA….. There is no way in 2002 I would have been pregnant with a gym some pill. If I did, there would be no chance, I would have wasted 7 years of my life working ‘in the club’ because obviously, child support would be fast. I have never received ONE DIME of child support in my life and that’s okay. I also would NEVER try to say anyone other than the name my son is named after (yes, he is a senior) was the father.
The post’s caption continued: “My son’s father lives in PA and makes an honest living as a barber… I’ve been silent for too long. I’ve also let people tell ‘my story’ on TV too many times. I will speak my truth….. You speak your mind and stay motivated by doing that. God bless. For God’s sake, keep the children away from that.”
Kniko Jr. has a younger half-brother named Jru Scandrick. Jru was born on April 8, 2016 in Burbank, California. “We are extremely excited to add a sixth member to our family,” Michele told PEOPLE. “He was a good, healthy kid and everyone was crazy about him. His siblings are in love.”
