Who are HGTV Mike Butler’s parents?

Mike grew up in the construction industry and was born into a family of builders and artists. In 1984, Mike was born. Therefore, he celebrated his 38th birthday in 2022.

The Perfect Vignette is an architecture, engineering and design firm that the New York Institute of Technology alumnus worked for and may have even co-founded with his wife. The company had 12 employees during this time. Here, Mike’s role is that of the mastermind. Since graduating from college, Mike has focused on design and construction projects in every way possible, from small tasks to building foundations in Manhattan to completing additions at the Stadium Gillette.

To be closer to family, Mike and Denese moved from Jersey City, New Jersey to Boston in 2019 with their three sons Ellis, 6, Felix and Luca, 18 months. To make each project truly unique, Mike and Denese now collaborate with their fathers, who are both GCs and carpenters.

Denese and Mike Butler have been husband and wife since April 21, 2012.

HGTV Mike Butler’s father, John Butler is from Massachusetts. It is known that John was born in 1956, in 2023, John is 67 years old this year.

According to John’s Facebook, he attended Lexington High School, Lexington, MA and graduated in 1974. He then attended Lowell Institute of Technology.

Furthermore, during his career, John was also the owner of Newfield Millwork, where he worked as a cabinetmaker. Starting in 2019, he worked at Consigli Construction Co., Inc. as Director of Field Operations.

Mike’s father took Mike with him to construction sites throughout his childhood. But after graduating from college, Mike began specializing in design/build projects instead of going the traditional GC route. These projects range from small jobs to capital construction in Manhattan to completing an addition at Gillette Stadium.

Irene Butler is the matriarch of the Butler family. She is the daughter of Lowell Wayne Sheppard, born on August 31, 1938. Sadly, her father passed away on March 22, 2017. Her mother’s name is Carole Butler.

Irene has at least one older sister, Margo Hebert. Margo studied her BA (Honours) in Ottawa. She served as Director of Marketing & Development at Arts Network Ottawa / Réseau des arts d’Ottawa. She worked as a Marketing Officer/Marketing Agent at Hydro Ottawa.

After the show’s premiere, Margo posted on her FB: “So when I used to pick up my little nephew and bring him into the house because he interrupted me and my nieces playing dance hopscotch, I never thought it would launch a show on HGTV one day! Congratulations to Michael Butler, his lovely wife Denese Butler and my brother-in-law John M Butler – good luck with this adventure! Aunt Bug is so proud.”

Other members of Irene’s family include Dan Moylan, Shelly Grenier, Tania Menice and Sarah Butler Moylan. Irene is from Ottawa, Ontario, which is also the current residence of some of her family members.
