Melanie Collins worked as a bartender while in college.
During one of her many shifts, a co-worker told her about a radio audition at AccuWeather, which was hiring at the time. She jumped at the chance and today, she’s become one of the best journalists around.
After her time at Accuweather, Melanie Collins landed an internship at WPSU-TV, where she started as a baseball and football statistics collector before becoming a co-host of Let’s Talk Sports Nittany Lion’s Fans.
While doing so, she also covered soccer, basketball, baseball, and volleyball events for her alma mater.
After leaving WPSU-TV, Melanie Collins took another internship with the Big Ten Network. She combined this job with her position as a reporter and host of Penn State Universe.
