Mercy Eke was born on September 29, 1993. She is from Imo State, Southeastern Nigeria. She is an Igbo of the tribe. She has an older sister named Promise Eke.
Mercy Eke attended Egbu Girls Secondary School in Owerri Imo State, Nigeria.

Mercy Eke entered the Big Brother Naija house on June 30, 2019 and was announced as the winner in October 2019, becoming the first woman to win the top prize. She previously auditioned for Big Brother Naija four times before becoming a contestant.
The standout queen emerged as the winner of the popular reality TV show Big Brother Naija season four against housemates Frodd, Mike Edward, Omashola Oburoh and Seyi Awolowo.
