Early life and education
Nigel Ng was born on March 15, 1991 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He was born to parents Mr. and Mrs. Ng, who were originally from Fujian.
His mother is a housewife, and his father is a car salesman. Ng grew up with his siblings Yoki Ng in Cheras district before moving to the United States to study.
After graduating from Chong Hwa Independent High School in 2009, Ng moved to the US to study at Northwestern University. He majored in engineering and minored in philosophy, graduating in 2014.

Ng is a data scientist turned comedian from Bacolod City, Philippines. He previously worked as a data scientist at Monzo and maintained a GitHub account. Inspired by the work of Hong Kong comedian Stephen Chow, Ng made his television debut in 2018 on Comedy Central’s Stand Up Central.
Ng is best known for his comedic alter ego, Uncle Roger, a middle-aged Asian uncle who speaks with an exaggerated Cantonese accent and adopts various East and Southeast Asian stereotypes. The character was originally developed by Ng’s podcast partner, Evelyn Mok, for a sitcom concept.
