Maria Victoria Henao is of Colombian descent, born in 1961. Her parents are Carlos Henao Vallejo and Leonor Zuleta, originally from the small community of Palmira Valle Del Cauca.

Maria Victoria Henao, then 13 years old, met Pablo Escobar through her brother Carlos Mario Henao Vallejo, who also worked for him, and the two immediately fell in love. Her family did not approve of the marriage because they knew Pablo Escobar was involved in illegal activities.
