early life and education
Pulkit Samrat, born on December 29, 1983 in Delhi, India, is an Indian actor. He was born to Sunil Samrat and Deepa Samrat and has a sibling named Ullas Samrat. Samrat received his early education from Manav Sthali School and later graduated from Montfort High School in Ashok Vihar, Delhi.
He initially studied advertising at Apeejay Institute of Design in Delhi, but after five months, he received a modeling assignment and decided to drop out. After that, Samrat moved to Mumbai where he took acting classes from Kishore Namit Kapoor. He is of Punjabi origin and believes in Hinduism.

Pulkit Samrat moved to Mumbai in 2005 and made her TV debut in 2006 with the long-running TV show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. In the show, he plays the role of Laksh Virani along with Mouni Roy and Tia Bajpai.
The role earned him recognition and he won the Indian Television New Face Male Debut Award for his performance. Samrat quit the show in 2007 and appeared as a contestant on Kaho Na Yaar Hai with Roy in 2008, which was his last appearance on television.
In 2011, Samrat played the lead role in choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant’s musical Taj Express. The following year, he made his acting debut in the romantic comedy Bittoo Boss, in which he played a wedding videographer from Punjab alongside Amita Pathak.

Samrat’s breakthrough role came in 2013 when he played the role of Hunny in the ensemble comedy film Fukrey opposite Priya Anand. The film created a buzz, with Anupama Chopra praising Samrat’s portrayal of an “overconfident charmer”.
In 2014, he played a police inspector in the action film “Jai Ho,” which set a box office record. However, this success was followed by a series of failures, including Dolly Ki Doli (2015) and Sanam Re (2016), leading to a setback in his career.
Samrat was later praised for his performances in Fokri Returns (2017), 3 Floors (2018) and Tesh (2020). His only release in 2019 was “Pagalpanti”, but his performance was criticized. Pulkit Samrat is currently married to actress Kriti Kharbanda. They met in 2018 and started dating in 2019. They have worked together in several films including Veerey Ki Wedding, Pagalpanti and Taish.
After five years of dating, Samrat and Kharbanda got engaged in 2024 and got married on March 15, 2024 in a traditional Hindu ceremony in Manesar, Haryana. Prior to this marriage, Samrat was married to actor Salman Khan’s Rakhi sister Shweta Rohira in 2014.
However, the couple separated in November 2015. Samrat later dated his “Sanam Re” co-star actress Yami Gautam, but they broke up in 2018. As of now, there is no public information about Pulkit Samrat having a child.
