While in high school, he discovered his love for music. He decided to follow his passion and began to actively pursue music. His turning point was winning a rap freestyle competition. This victory confirmed that he could become a musician.
Rayvanny began attending music events in his city, performing at shows, and meeting other musicians. During this time, he met a group of up-and-coming musicians and decided to join their band, Tip Top Connection. His time in the band helped him improve his singing and songwriting skills.
Profession
In 2015, Rewani took a major career turn when he joined the music label WCB Wasafi Records, one of the largest record labels in the country, owned and managed by Diamond Platinumz.
In 2016, he released his debut single “Kwetu” under the record label. The song catapulted him to fame and became a hit across East Africa.
Due to the success of the single, Rewani was nominated for the Breakthrough Artist Award at the MTV Africa Music Awards in 2016. The following year, Rewani won more awards and was nominated for several awards such as Best New Artist at the AEUSA Awards, Best African Artist at the Uganda Entertainment Awards, and International Viewers Choice at the BET Awards.
Four years later, Rayvanny founded the record label Next Level Music.
