Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani Could Clash on ‘The Voice’ Season 26 Because There Can Only Be One ‘Queen’

Gwen Stefani will continue to serve as a coach on Voice season 26, with two new faces joining the judging panel and one familiar face returning.

The 54-year-old “Hollaback Girl” singer has a long history as a coach. Voiceparticipated in seasons 7, 9, 12, 17, 19, 22 and 24.

NBC has revealed the new lineup for season 26, including the return of Stefani, promising a season full of surprises and excitement as the changing cast ensures exciting and engaging competition.

New members of Stefani’s team include Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé. They join longtime coach Reba McEntire, who has been on the show since season 24.

Since Stefani left, there’s been a new Queen Bee on set.

McEntire has emerged as the reigning queen, raising expectations of a potential confrontation as Stefani is known for her supposed diva attitude. With the No Doubt frontman also known for her strong personality, tensions are building as people anticipate a possible clash of egos.

According to Life & Style magazine, “Last season, [McEntire] really found her rhythm and rapport with the bosses, fellow coaches and the audience and became a mentor behind the scenes, but don’t let the maternal instinct fool you.”

“She is extremely competitive and bossy and tends to bully her friends and associates.”

The insider went on to say that there were signs that the 69-year-old country music icon might be happy to have Stefani back on the show, flashing her signature smile; however, “she also let [Stefani] know that she is the one responsible.”

The “Just A Girl” singer is currently without husband Blake Shelton, who was also on the show and left after several years, by her side to defend her. Those in their circle speculate that things could get contentious, as Stefani has a history of being accused of attention-seeking, which is expected to continue on the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, former coaches John Legend, Chance The Rapper and Dan + Shay, who previously served on the judging panel alongside McEntire, will be absent from the lineup for season 25.

Stefani revealed her decision to step away from her iconic red chair for season 25 of Voice in December 2023 when she said she would focus her attention on her music career.

“I’ve finally gotten to that place where I’m obsessed, where I can’t stop listening, so I feel like I’m somewhere,” the blonde beauty said during the announcement.

“I just try to find little pockets of time to make music and it never gets old. It’s still fun and magical.”

It is best to remain cautious when considering media reports.
