SEVENTEEN Contributes $1 Million to UNESCO’s Latest Initiative as First Goodwill Ambassadors for Youth

SEVENTEEN declares its support for UNESCO’s latest initiative for youth prosperity and creativity.

UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay announced the appointment of 13 SEVENTEEN members as Goodwill Ambassadors for youth. The “Mansae” hitmaker, who debuted in 2015, will lead the launch of the joint sponsorship program “Going Together – For the Creativity and Happiness of Youth” to support youth projects worldwide bridge.

“The group has become an icon for millions of young people around the world, to whom we share our positive energy and leadership,” said Azoulay. “UNESCO, as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, is delighted to partner with SEVENTEEN to provide young people with a means of self-expression and action to address the major challenges of this century.

UNESCO’s official website said SEVENTEEN will contribute $1 million to fund the grant program.

Joshua, one of the group members, conveyed a strong message on behalf of SEVENTEEN following this announcement.

“We are grateful to be recognized for our consistent efforts and long-standing passion to contribute to youth around the world,” Joshua shared. “We know that our dream is not alone and now, to repay what we have received from all of you, we are determined to use our voices to create a vocal community. The global youth is strengthened through love and mutual support.”

The latest initiative will support other youth-led work focused on challenges affecting young people around the world. It will collaborate with young project leaders, aged 18 to 30, from different places and backgrounds to fulfill the mission of UNESCO and SEVENTEEN.

Additionally, SEVENTEEN will be part of campaigns and events that raise awareness of the professional body as well as the company’s values ​​and actions through their performances.

News of the ambassadorship and the project comes after the group participated in the 13th UNESCO Youth Forum in November 2023.

SEVENTEEN’s fandom members, Carat, showed enthusiastic support and expressed how proud they were of the group.
