Taylor Swift and Prince William’s friendship began long before their recent meeting at a stop on her Eras Tour in London.

On June 21, Swift posed for a photo with the heir to the throne and his two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, as members of the royal family attended the performance. The official Instagram page of the Prince and Princess of Wales also captured the special moment and shared the interactive photo.

After the meeting, royal biographer Katie Nicholl spoke to Entertainment Tonight and reflected on Swift’s friendship with Prince William.
“I’m not sure if Princess Charlotte is the oldest Swiftie in the family or if it’s actually Prince William. I know he loves her music,” Nicholl said. “They have a great connection, they’re good friends.”
Prince William and the “So Long, London” singer first met at the Centrepoint Gala at London’s Kensington Palace in 2013. They sang with Jon Bon Jovi at the time.

The biographer said the duo became good friends after that night and Prince William is said to have received royal treatment during Swift’s Eras tour.
She added: “There is clearly a lovely connection between the two. “But William isn’t just a fan of Taylor, he’s also a huge fan of her music.”

The “Bejeweled” singer did not meet Meghan Markle when she attended the Eras Tour in California in 2023. Previously, she reportedly said no when the Duchess of Sussex invited her to her “Archetypes”.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have a long-standing royal feud with Meghan and Prince Harry.
“Meghan also revealed via People magazine that she spent time at a Taylor Swift concert. So I think we’re seeing our Taylor with Team Wales here in the last few hours,” commentator Kinsey Schofield said of Swift. “Also, you know, a lot of people pointed to the pictures of Meghan and Harry at the Beyoncé concert, where Harry looked quite sad compared to Prince William wagging his tail at the Taylor Swift concert. You just see Prince William chasing joy. And I think that’s important.”
