Early life
Barker was born in California on November 14, 1975. His mother gave him his first drum set at age 4 and began studying at age 5 under Michael Mai, who taught him many other drum styles. together.

After finishing school, Barker began playing for a small Fontana-based band called Snot and Feeble while working as a garbage collector. He met Chad Larson and together they formed the Aquabats, giving them a recording contract.
