Early Life & Education
Van Vicker was born in Accra, Ghana to a Dutch father and a Ghanaian/Liberian mother on 1 August 1977. He has an older sister named Phylicia Anderson. Rumor has it that he has an unnamed stepbrother.
However, his father died when he was just six years old. He often reveals in interviews that he considers himself a global citizen because he was raised by his mother all over the world.
Due to his father’s early death, Van Vicker has said that he has a strong relationship with his mother and considers her his hero.
Van Vicker attended Mfantsipim school with actor Majid Michel. He then graduated from Africa University College of Communication in 2021.
Career
Van Vicker got his start in the world of radio entertainment as a presenter at Groove 106.3 FM from 1999 to 2000 and Vibe 91.9 FM from 2001 to 2004 and as a television personality for TV3 Ghana from 1997 to 1999, and finally Metro TV from 2000–2004.

He appeared in the Ghanaian television series Sun City, which depicts university life. He then played LeRoy King Jr., an American-born Fine Arts student who comes to Sun City to complete his studies. The series has aired a total of 10 episodes.
Soon, Van Vicker was cast in his debut film titled Divine Love, but as a supporting character. Incidentally, this film was also the acting debut of soon-to-be famous actors Jackie Appiah and Majid Michel, who appeared as the female lead and male lead, respectively.
He often appears as a romantic lead alongside leading actresses such as Jackie Appiah and Nadia Buari. He is often compared to Nigerian actor Ramsey Nouah and compatriot Majid Michel due to their similar performance styles.
Apart from starring in Ghanaian movies, Van Vicker also appeared in many Nollywood movies alongside famous Nollywood actors such as Mercy Johnson, Tonto Dikeh, Chika Ike, Nonso Diobi, Mike Ezuruonye, Stephanie Okereke and Jim Iyke. Van Vicker is one of the best actors in Africa, if not the best. The Dutch-Ghanian sensation is of average height, with a toned body. Other interesting physical features include dark brown eyes and black hair.
Van Vicker is married to a woman named Dr. Prophet La’Rika Van Vicker, also known as Adjoa Vicker, is the Executive Director of the International Peace Alliance Our Voice Matters , as of June 28, 2018.
He serves as acting president of the same organization. Van Vicker and Adjoa Vicker own apartments in the United States and Nigeria.
However, the actor is married to Adjoa Vicker. The couple married in 2003 and have three children: J’dyl Vicker, J-ian Vicker and Vj Van Vicker. However, after years of infidelity and irreconcilable differences, the couple thought it best to divorce and co-parent as friends.
