Sources close to Justin Timberlake confirmed to TMZ that he was not drunk and was reportedly sober during his Las Vegas performance a few weeks before his DWI arrest in New York.

The resurfaced video, recorded during his World Forgets Tomorrow tour at T-Mobile Arena in May 2024, led people online to speculate whether he was drunk when he performed at the time.

Sources criticized people’s criticism of Timberlake’s “bloodshot” eyes during the performance, saying it was “simply over-analyzed” by those “seeking to condemn the guy unjustly.”
Insiders even claim that Timberlake is “not even close” to that state of mind, being intoxicated, contrary to what people online suggest. They also believe that Timberlake “remained focused and alert during all of his performances”, including the recent performances and the performance in question.

“Wow, this is really sad, he looks completely exhausted.. I hope he gets help,” one user said on TikTok after watching Timberlake’s viral performance in May year 2024.
“Alcohol is real. I feel this,” one netizen attested.
“I have a video of him like this from his performance (on my profile). When I saw him in person and watched it again, I was dumbfounded! His eyes were itchy. Don’t know if it’s the lighting during the tour or something else,” a third person echoed another’s sentiment.
However, not everyone believes that he was drunk during said performance.

“Maybe he’s just tired with everything going on, he probably hasn’t been able to sleep, he just needs a little rest, maybe a sleep aid and he’ll be fine,” one Other fans defended.
“I was there during this part and he walked past me. His eyes weren’t bloodshot at all and he didn’t look like he was on anything. He gave an incredible performance and speak clearly to the crowd,” one person said.
Timberlake was arrested in Sag Harbor, New York for driving under the influence on June 17, 2024. The arresting officer also described Timberlake’s eyes as “bloodshot” after arresting him.
“It was determined that the defendant was driving the above vehicle in a drunken state, his eyes were bloodshot, dull, his breath smelled of alcohol, he could not focus his attention, spoke slowly, was unsteady on his feet and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” the police report said, as quoted by Billboard.
