Following Flavor Flav’s viral statements recounting his unfortunate experience of being kicked out of the Backstreet Boys’ dressing room, band member Kevin Richardson shared his perspective on the situation.
On December 5, Flavor Flav expressed his thoughts on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), claiming that he was escorted out of the band’s dressing room by NBC security.
After Flavor Flav deleted this tweet, he uploaded another tweet stating how “broken” he was mentally after the incident. “I deleted the tweet but my spirit was broken,” Flavor Flav said.

On December 6, TMZ obtained an interview with Backstreet Boys member Kevin Richardson, who was asked how he felt about the Flavor Flav incident. According to the short interview, Richardson clarified that the incident did not happen in their dressing room but in a “green room” where the hosts, staff and artists were relaxing.
“It’s not a dressing room, it’s a green room, everyone is there, all the hosts, artists, it’s just a venue because it’s just a small place.”
The singer was asked if Flavor Flav was the only one taken out of the room. Richardson responded that he did not know the rapper had been fired.
“I didn’t know he got kicked out, I never saw him get kicked out. We all just saw him and said ‘Hey, what’s up, man? Nice to meet you!’ and we didn’t know he was kicked out.”
Richardson also said that he would have stood up and intervened if he had witnessed the incident, “Obviously, but it was packed and security was on high alert.”
The singer also advised Flavor Flav to “call ahead” the next time he visits the band and will most likely avoid security issues.
