Anthony Fish, a community safety officer from South Wales, came fourth in the competition. Between the Open All Hours questions and the general knowledge round, he scored 26 points. Meanwhile, Eleanor Ayres from Cambridgeshire, a lawyer and editor who chose the medieval Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine as her specific topic, took the final spot on the show with 22 points.

She talks about Leader ARRIVE Telegraph: “I had thought about entering for years but never expected to win, and it was a shock when I did. The opponents in the final were strong, but the questions just seemed to come to me. It was a great experience and an honor to receive such a beautiful trophy.”

She also researched all the historical sites in the park before going on walks with her dog Leo to consolidate her knowledge. Her efforts certainly paid off when she successfully answered 33 questions posed by journalist Clive Myrie.

As for TV shows, Alice said she has “loved quizzes” since she was a child and started taking them seriously in the early 80s when she took part in the Macclesfield quiz.
