DeBose is dating costume designer and professor Sue Makkoo. Ariana, who previously dated stage props guru Jill Johnson, plays Disco Donna while Sue, a former Arizona State University student, is her wardrobe partner.

The couple can occasionally be seen sharing glimpses of their lives on social media. Not long ago, Sue even bought and renovated a house for Ariana that was originally built in 1955. She spent years not only renovating and designing, but actually perfecting the decades-old cottage into the perfect getaway from the chaos of New York City.

Of course, Sue also renovated a beautiful house that once belonged to her grandmother to pass on to her daughter, whom she named after the old lady. The designer mom said it was the right thing to do.

Sue says Adalyn is her best friend and she “just” enjoys spending time with her. Sue’s son, Noah Wilson, the calm in her storm, may have finished his Playwrighting degree at Webster University in 2019. Now a resident of La Jolla, California, he also attended La Jolla High School. As he puts it, he’s often in his room “freaking out over a paper on tragedy while eating a lot of applesauce.” He turns 25 on May 29, 2021.

Then there’s Harry Wilson, who turned 27 on June 30 and is married. On his Facebook page, he mentions being involved in youth ministry at La Jolla Christian Fellowship; that he’s an alumnus of Point Loma Nazarene University; and that he’s currently attending Azusa Pacific University.

Sue has blogged about all of her children, where she shared that Noah has some sort of disability and that it was a struggle growing up. She said that her child only said his first words at the age of three and had an army of therapists, teachers, and family members to help her raise him.
