Shane’s father Terrence Albritton is a native Californian who broke the world record in shooting as a UH Manoa transfer student – and later worked as a strength coach and physical education teacher at St. Anthony of Maui.

After graduating from high school and enrolling in the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in New York on a football scholarship, Shane stayed there for a year before returning to Hawaii, where he worked in hotel security and attended Maui Community College. There he met a political science professor who, he says, influenced his choice of work.

Shane also worked as a tour guide on the island of Maui and has traveled around the world, teaching English to adults in countries such as Spain, Brazil and Portugal, where he first discovered his passion. passionate about education.
