Who Will Replace Katy Perry on ‘American Idol?’ Luke Bryan Teases Fans About 3 Potential Judges

Since Katy Perry left American Idol After serving as one of the judges for seven seasons, fans have debated who should replace her. More recently, Luke Bryan named three pop stars who could take the singer’s place.

The country singer gave an interview to Billboard, in which he named three pop singers who could potentially be co-judges on the show next season, including Pink, Miley Cyrus and Meghan Trainor.

“I’ve mentioned a few names. I think Pink has been discussed, Miley Cyrus has been discussed, Meghan Trainor has been discussed,” he said.

However, he clarified that the process was “very exciting” as Disney kept information about the replacement a secret from him, co-judge Lionel Richie and host Ryan Seacrest.

“We haven’t heard anything yet about who’s coming back and whether Lionel and I are coming back. I think Disney is just trying to figure out what they want to do and we’re just sitting there waiting until they decide,” he added.

He also noted that replacing Perry won’t be easy because they “really have to step in and do the job that Katy did.”

Pink and Cyrus have yet to speak out about the possibility of them joining the show, but Trainor has previously expressed her desire to be a judge on the show, to the point where she’s reached out to people who could help her.

In an interview with Watch What Happens Live with Andy CohenThe “Mother” hitmaker said she wants to replace Perry after the pop star announced his departure from the show.

“I went on every interview in the world and said it was my dream job and I emailed three amazing people who work in that world… not really having full control but I begged,” she said.

As of this writing, manufacturers American Idol The next judges have yet to be announced. In addition to the three musicians, Jon Bon Jovi is also rumored to be in talks with the production company to become a judge.

Bryan previously praised Trainor in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying, “I think Meghan’s always been really fun. You know, that’s her brand, always having fun. [She’s] “That’s funny, for sure.”

On the other hand, Seacrest noted that the “Made You Look” hitmaker is “super talented” and that she has a “great sense of humor.”
