Willie Nelson’s health issues uncovered after concert cancelled at last minute

Willie Nelson’s health problems have drawn attention after his show was canceled.

Just before the Outlaw Music Festival Tour at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Mass., Willie’s team announced that the country singer would not be able to perform with the band. He will next appear on July 4 in Camden, N.J.

His son, Lukas Nelson, will perform with the band.

“Bob Dylan, Robert Plant, Alison Krauss and Celisse will perform as scheduled. Additionally, Lukas Nelson and Family, along with several special guests, will once again play his own repertoire of Willie classics and other songs,” the statement said.

Willie had previously been forced to cancel his opening night performance “on doctor’s orders, [had] advised to rest for the next four days.”

Although he hasn’t revealed exactly what his health issues are, fans have begun to learn about the icon’s health struggles over the years.

For years, the 91-year-old singer of “On the Road Again” has sparked retirement rumors as health issues have affected his shows and performances.

In 2019, he was diagnosed with a lung condition called emphysema. This health problem causes him to have breathing problems.

Additionally, a collapsed lung and back problems affected his health while recovering from hip replacement surgery.

“All I do is play music and play golf. Which one do you want me to give up?” he said in an interview when asked about his condition.

Willie has previously admitted to smoking pot and marijuana after quitting cigarettes and alcohol, though his spokeswoman, Elaine Shock, told The Associated Press that the singer “does what he wants when he wants” when it comes to smoking.

Although his health condition has fans worried, the “Write Your Own Songs” singer is determined to continue performing despite his condition and age.

“His body aches and he’s in pain, but he’s determined to push through and keep performing even if it kills him, which it could,” his friend told the National Enquirer. “It’s no secret that Willie has been a pain-ridden toy for years and has ignored his emergencies and illnesses, but as he gets older, it becomes harder and harder to maintain his mobility.”
