Celine Dion prepares for epic comeback with 8 months of secret training amid health recovery: ‘She’s ready’

Will fans get to hear Celine Dion sing live again despite her struggles with Rigid Person Syndrome?

Plans are reportedly underway for the iconic singer’s much-anticipated return to the Las Vegas stage, with the 56-year-old rumoured to have been “secretly rehearsing” for a series of shows later this year.

If successful, this will be Dion’s epic return after four years away from music.

In her ongoing battle with the neurological condition Rigid Person Syndrome, the “My Heart Will Go On” singer reportedly intends to showcase her best songs in each 70-minute performance.

The mother-of-three is set to appear on stage at the Resorts World Theatre during the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix season, according to an insider speaking to The Sun. However, they revealed that contingency measures are being considered to postpone the performances until later next year in case her health is affected.

Concert promoter AEG is reportedly organising events to prepare for Dion’s first live performance. The company plans to hold an initial limited run to assess her ability to handle the demands of performing on stage.

The insider added that the “I’m Alive” hitmaker has spent the past eight months in intensive rehearsals with a team of musicians and vocal experts.

They told the newspaper: “It’s still very tight-lipped at the moment, but an announcement will be made soon. [Dion] signed a contract to sing again for the audience in November.”

“She has worked incredibly hard to get back to where she can sing well and for a while. She believes she is ready to perform for more than an hour,” they continued. “Her desire to come back and entertain has been a huge driving force in her health battle.

Unwavering in her determination, Dion has reportedly spent months honing her vocal chops in secret. The process reportedly began with intimate rehearsals with her bandmates at her Las Vegas home. Now, the award-winning singer’s efforts have evolved into a catalog where she can perform multiple songs in succession at a level that excites and satisfies her.

According to inside sources, Dion is said to have the full backing of AEG, a company with which she has established a long-standing professional relationship.

They went on to say, “The executives at AEG are thrilled with her remarkable achievements. Their support has been overwhelming and they look forward to working together to ensure everything is perfect for her eventual return.”

Starting with a limited range of activities, Dion wanted to assess her physical, mental and emotional health. The overwhelming support of her fans is said to ensure their loyalty in all circumstances.

However, according to insiders, Dion’s health and well-being are paramount in all cases. The main focus is on a possible November comeback, with further plans to be considered after that timeframe.

In her fight against the rare disease, Dion has faced many challenges in finding effective treatments because the condition is so rare and poorly understood, affecting only two in 100,000 people.

At one point in her life, Dion was said to have been taking large amounts of Valium to control the muscle spasms she suffered from, taking up to 90mg at a time.

“Honestly, I didn’t know it could kill me,” she shared in an interview with Hoda Kotb.

“She had to take more medication because it wasn’t working anymore. But with the help of her doctor, she got off it,” a close friend told Closer Weekly.
