SZA admits she was ‘shaken’ during Glastonbury performance: Show plagued by technical difficulties, small crowd

SZA’s headline performance at Glastonbury wasn’t perfect, as her show was plagued with technical difficulties and an even smaller crowd. Despite that, the musician was grateful for the opportunity as she spoke out for the first time after her performance.

On her official Instagram account, the “Weeknend” hitmaker shared several photos of herself performing on the Pyramid Stage, the largest stage for artists performing at the annual music festival.

“Tonight I faced my fears. Tonight my entire team made the impossible possible!!” she wrote. The R&B singer thanked her crew, band, backup dancers and everyone who helped her.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for dreaming about me,” she added.

The Daily Mail initially reported that SZA added in the caption that she was “really shaking” during her performance, but the post has since been edited.

The news recently came after the musician suffered mic issues during the first 30 minutes of her performance, with many describing it as distorted and muddy. After the audio issues were resolved, people claimed the quality of her voice through the speakers was inconsistent.

SZA also encountered a smaller crowd despite being on the biggest stage at the event. Just minutes before she was set to start, videos circulating on social media showed parts of the venue still empty.

The singer addressed the crowd during her performance, saying, “Glastonbury, I’m so thrilled to be here with you today. I’m so grateful, you guys are people I love and respect the most.”

In a recent post, fans reassured her that she did a great job with her show, as one wrote, “They didn’t appreciate you enough tonight mom. You did amazing and don’t let anyone who isn’t confident in their own success sell you anything else.”

“You did it!! Always remember the strength within you… Your endless dedication to your craft and to the fans who come to see you is unmatched. You deserve every bit of it,” one person commented.

In other Glastonbury updates, Emily Eavis, daughter of founder Michael Eavis, confirmed that the annual event is currently looking for artists who could headline the 2025 festival.

However, she also noted that the festival was cancelled because Worthy Farm would have to spend “a fallow year” for the land to recover.

“(It will) give the land a rest,” she said, adding that the fallow year event is exciting because they can celebrate almost two years in one festival.
