early life

Ycee was born on January 29, 1993 in Lagos. His full name is Oludemilade Martin Alejo. He hails from the southwestern part of Nigeria as his parents are Yoruba. He spent his growing up years living in his parents’ house in Festac Town.

As a teenager, Ycee was exposed to different music genres by listening to the radio or watching TV. He developed a keen interest in rap music and after self-motivation, he decided to try his hand at this genre.

From the comfort of his bedroom, Ycee wrote dozens of rap songs and performed them in the company of his family and close friends.
