Babsy Mlangeni (born 24 February 1943) is a South African music legend who rose to fame in 1969 with the song “Sala Ema”.
Born in Orlando West, Soweto, he is a guitarist, composer, singer and entrepreneur who started making music professionally in 1968.
Babsy Mlangleni is blind but he has not seen this as an excuse to stop or slow down his music career.

early life
Babsy Mlangleni was born on February 24, 1943 in Orlando West, Soweto, South Africa.

Babsy Mlangleni married a beautiful woman named Motlalepula Mlangleni.
His wife died of cervical cancer at Bertha Gxowa Hospital in Germiston in 2013. The event came as a shock to him as he had lost his son just a month earlier.
His son died of a stomach ulcer. He is survived by five children. Besides his passion for music, his children were the most important part of his life.

He said that the old times made music difficult as singers were not allowed to sing in English or mix other local languages in, whereas now it is popular and free to do so.
