Babsy Mlangeni (born 24 February 1943) is a South African music legend who rose to fame in 1969 with the song “Sala Ema”.
Born in Orlando West, Soweto, he is a guitarist, composer, singer and entrepreneur who started making music professionally in 1968.

Babsy Mlangleni was born on February 24, 1943 in Orlando West, Soweto, South Africa.

Babsy Mlangleni married a beautiful woman named Motlalepula Mlangleni.
His wife died of cervical cancer at Bertha Gxowa Hospital in Germiston in 2013. The event came as a shock to him as he had lost his son just a month earlier.
His son died of a stomach ulcer. He is survived by five children. Besides his passion for music, his children were the most important part of his life.
