The pop star first teased the collaboration during a TikTok livestream, in which Lorde’s name can be seen on a mural on a large wall. She initially didn’t provide any context behind the wall mural, but she later used her private Instagram account to share a teaser that the New Zealand artist would appear in. on the new version of “Girl, it’s confusing”.

During the beginning of their careers, the two artists were often confused for each other because of their appearance.
