After eight years of dating, Rachel Ballinger and her boyfriend Matt broke up in the fall of 2020. A YouTube vlogger for years, Rachel gave her followers a peek into her daily routine. While Rachel is known for her humorous vlogs and upbeat videos about her life, it seems she prefers to keep her love life private. In late 2020, rumors began to circulate that Rachel and her longtime boyfriend, Matt, had broken up.
When Rachel’s sister Colleen posted a TikTok video in December 2020, it led viewers to believe that the YouTuber and Matt had broken up. When the video suggested “raising your middle finger if you broke up with someone this year,” fans saw Rachel begin to do so before laughing and walking out of frame.
In a video posted in late January 2021, Rachel told the camera, “I haven’t spoken to my ex in over a month. We broke up in September and I haven’t spoken to this guy in over a month. I’ve been trying because we were together for eight years.” Rachel then started yelling, seemingly upset that Matt wasn’t answering all of her questions. She was frustrated that she couldn’t log in to clear charges on her credit card.
Fans weren’t expecting to see a vlog detailing Rachel’s split from Matt, as she has a history of keeping her personal life private. However, she did vlog about how their breakup gave her the freedom to fully explore her sexuality in a later post. Rachel came out as gay in a vlog in February 2021.
