George Strait just took his legendary status to a new level. He is currently the record holder for the artist with the largest ticket-selling single concert in America.

According to Consequence, the musician broke the record during his performance at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, over the weekend. More than 110,905 fans attended the show.

Strait dethroned the previous record holders, The Grateful Dead, who performed before 107,019 fans at a Raceway Park concert in New Jersey in 1977.
For his record-breaking show, Strait performed some of his biggest hits, including “Check Yes or No,” “Amarillo By Morning,” “Here for a Good Time” and many more. . He also gave fans a rendition of “Waymore’s Blues” originally sung by Waylon Jennings and a new track titled “MIA in MIA” from his new album. Cowboys and dreamers.
In addition to Strait holding the record, Kyle Field also achieved the largest attendance record, previously recorded in October 2014 when the A&M football team played Ole Miss.
15 KRHD reported that Strait’s show was in high demand, with nearby hotels and accommodations immediately selling out 30 minutes after the musician announced his performance.

“It happened very quickly and within 30 minutes we were full. It was crazy,” Chloe Weihausen of Hotel McCoy College Station said in an interview, adding, “Because it happened so fast so I don’t think we’ve been able to compete with the competition here in town. But it’s lucky for a lot of people because they only spend about $200 on a vacation here.”
The singer’s next show will take place at Rice Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, UT, on June 29, 2024, before he visits some of his final shows in Detroit , Chicago and Las Vegas.

In other updates about the country music star, he is set to release a brand new album, cowboys and dreamers, on September 6, 2024. This will be his 31st album for MCA Nashville.
