Elton John turned down the possibility of touring after promising to spend more time with his sons

Elton John has confirmed that he will no longer walk the yellow brick road.

When asked by Entertainment Tonight if he had any plans to return to the art world, John replied emphatically: “No.”

“You know, we have our sons, they’re entering their teenage years. We don’t want to miss out on anything. We want to be present for it. I think it’s a decade important in a century.” a kid’s life,” David Furnish, John’s husband, explained of John’s decision to stop touring.

According to the filmmaker, John has been touring for 60 years and it is “so nice” to have the time left “to be home with his family”.

“The last show in Stockholm on my farewell tour after Glastonbury, I got in the car and said: ‘Yes! Yes!’ We’d gone to the top, exactly the way I wanted it to go, and there was no turning back. [after] there,” John explained his decision.

John reflected on his legacy during his final performance at Tele2 Arena in Stockholm last July 2023.

“I’ve had the most amazing career, beyond imagination. 52 years of playing music for pure joy, how lucky am I to be playing music? But I wouldn’t be sitting here without you,” John said, quoted by The Independent. “You bought the singles, the albums and the CDs and more importantly you bought the tickets to the shows and you know how much I love performing live.”

Speaking to The Sun in May 2024 at the Other Songs Live event in London, Taupin shared news of the new album.

“Elton and I are releasing an album soon, but I dare not say anything about it because I am under strict orders to keep quiet,” he revealed. “It’s all finished and recorded.”

“I think it’s quite brilliant and quite modern and it will certainly surprise and excite many people and hopefully be a success,” he added.
